The Great Zucchini Race and Squash Hunger Baking Contest & Auction turn garden abundance into an all-ages day of creativity, friendly competition, and support for area food banks and pantries.

More than a race
Friday drop-off: Baking contest entries may be brought to the hall Friday, Sept. 25, from 7–10 p.m.
The race
Two gravity-powered classes
The Simple and Pro classes are open to all ages. Zucchinis may be grown or purchased, at least one functional axle must pass through the zucchini, and the finished racer may not exceed 26 centimeters—about 10 inches—wide, including wheels and decorations. Engines, ball bearings, and flames are prohibited.
The baking contest
Show what squash can do
Enter one item per class in the Zucchini & Squash or Pumpkin division. Any edible member of the Cucurbita squash genus is welcome. Entries must be made by the exhibitor, include a completed entry form, and identify the specific squash used. All entries will be auctioned after judging.
Every auction dollar supports local food banks and pantries.
Come hungry, bid early, bid often, and help turn an abundant harvest into support for neighbors facing food insecurity.
